Mission(s) Accomplished?
Okay, I went to Vancouver for the weekend in search of a new home. And I was blessed through and through. I got a place that fit everything I was hoping for and more. It is right downtown, is very spacious, was cheaper than I expected to be paying, it isn't available until Sept. (so I don't need to pay for August's rent), is right across the street from a small park, is a few blocks from English Bay and Stanley Park, the building is super clean, I get a balcony and the landlady is cool. So that r.o.s. just explained how it had everything I was really hoping for, now for the added bonuses. 1. a sweet secured bike room so my whip doesn't have to hang out in my room; 2. an indoor pool; 3. a dry sauna.
So that was my main mission of the trip. Other great things also happened.
in order of appearance.
-I drove down there. I guess that is an obvious one, but sometimes I love going on a long drive by myself. Granted road trips with the homies are great, but there is something magical about loning out for ten hours. Great thoughts, daydreams, and experiences happen when I am by myself.
-On the way I stopped at the Grandforks park which has a re-creation of the Crack Pipe. But it is concrete. That thing is gnarly. I really want to skate it with Matt one day soon.
-I visited my G-ma on the way through Abbotsford. I really get along with her, and I love that she is a wise ol' G-ma. I think that everyone gets a little loopy by that age, but she still has great things to say. I love you G-ma.
-I got to spend a weekend with The Parkers (Sarah, Wesley and Isabella) They are very busy and I really appreciate that they let me get in their ways for a bit. Sarah had her septum operated on, and like a good brother I accidently knocked her bandaged nose which immediately started bleeding. I think I made her cry too.
-Isabella is getting way stronger and more fun to play with, when ever she poops it is celebrated with song and dance.
-I partook in my first ever "apartment hunt." At first it was un-nerving. Places would get snatched up within hours of being on the market, so you had to be johnny-on-the-spot. I saw some sweet dives, some okay ones and one great one. I went with the great one, and thankfully was approved for it.
-I got to spend a tonne of time with my dad. It was great, we walked for hours, sat at the pond and hit ducks with rocks. That was his idea, and it was funny. I genuinely enjoyed my time with him, he didn't even lose it when I ran a red light.
-I got to hang out with Melissa, it is sweet when paths can cross. We went for sushi at a pub. A bit of a weird combo.
-I drove home, again alone and again I love it.
Pictures soon maybe.
